News and Updates

Saturday Night may be alright for fighting, but it's even better for racing, and when the Powri Midgets scheduled a date at "The Diamond of Dirt Tracks", Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheaton, Mo., John Wagner Motorsports circled the date. Sponsored by Lucas Oil, John and the Wagner team wanted to keep the money in the family. To do so, they hired the proven combination of Casey "'Lil Shu" Shuman and Scooter Ellis of Scooter Ellis Inc. to take them to victory lane. They did just that. Saving the best for last, Shuman powered the Lucas Oil sponsored; Wagner/Beast-Esslinger past Mike Hess on the last lap to take home the crown jewels. Press Release 12/10/07

(Brownsburg, IN) After two successful racing seasons, Scooter Ellis and C.W. Management Racing and California driver Cole Whitt will part ways effective at the end of the 2007 racing season. Ellis cites the time commitment and the rigorous CW Management testing and racing schedule as the reason for the amicable separation. “With my first child on the way, I need to be able to spend more time closer to home with my family.”

Under Ellis's guidance, the former Kart champion Whitt piloted the 29W Red Bull sprint car to victories at Lincoln Park and Bloomington Speedways. In his short career as a sprint car driver with Ellis, Whitt raced into over 80% of feature events and earned top ten finishes in more than half of those feature events. “I think Cole is a great young talent and I would like to wish him all the best in his future endeavors. He has a great career ahead of him.”
